Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in TV and film is well known for movies such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born the only child to Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her professional career in the show business from a young age. When she reached the age of sixteen, she had secured prominent roles in a variety of television dramas. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. The film won an Oscar and received critical and commercial success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. The projects comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French history mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she has been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as and the Cannes Film Festival.
