Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for over a decade. Alexandra is known for roles in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had landed several television roles, which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and won critical and commercial success. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's work has led her to work on a number of notable international and national projects. A few of them include the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
